AASTMT Official delegates at Hellenic-Arab Maritime Academy

The high importance of the joint venture between the Arab Academy for Science,

Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and the Hellenic Arab Maritime

Academy (HAMA) was emphasized by the President of AASTMT, Dr. Ismail Abdel

Ghafar Ismail Farag, who paid an official visit to HAMA’s premises at City Unity

College, in Athens, in the context of his participation at the 3rd EU-Arab World Summit.

The President of the City Unity Educational Group, Mr. Harris Geronikolas, welcomed and offered a tour of CUC’s facilities to all official delegates: Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, President, Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt; Dr. Gehan Saleh, Prime Minister Economic Affairs Advisor, Cabinet of Minister, Egypt; Prof. Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Secretary General, Union of Arab Chambers, Lebanon; Prof. Dipl. -Ing. Mouddar Khouja, Secretary General, Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Austria; Mr. Mohammed Abdo Saeed, President, Union of Arab Chambers, Lebanon; Mr. Rashad Mabger, General Secretary, Arab Hellenic Chamber of Commerce & Development; Dr. Ayman Ghonim, Head of Public Relations & Protocol, AASTMT; Dr. Ahmed Youssef, Director of International Forum for Maritime Transport, AASTMT; and Mrs. Maria Vestarki, Public relations Manager, Arab Hellenic Chamber of Commerce & Development.

Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar, Dr. Ayman Ghonim and Dr. Ahmed Youssef, as the official delegation of AASTMT, met with HAMA students who aspire to become Μaster Mariner and Marine Engineers in merchant vessels. In their speeches they underlined the significance of studying in a modern and dynamically evolving educational field such as shipping.

AASTMT’s representatives emphasized that students study the curriculum of the 2nd ranked Maritime Academy in the world, thus enhancing their opportunity for an international career.  They also highlighted the value of the joint venture with HAMA, as it actually reinforces cooperation between Greece and Egypt at university level education.
